Miss Lilian Byrnes purchases the property for the first hospital
Miss Lilian Byrnes, a registerd nurse from Omaha, and Mrs. Landerback, a practical nurse, purchased the property known as the Carl Wright place on B Street from G.C. Commock to establish the first hospital in Polson. The Polson General Hospital had a surgical room, a nursery, and rooms for six patients. The attending doctors of this pioneer hospital were George B. Owen and Dr. William J. Marshall.
